2027 Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest in Munich is the world's largest beer festival, held on the Theresienwiese fairground for 16 to 18 days from the first Saturday after September 15 through the first Sunday of October. It opens at noon when the Lord Mayor taps the first keg and declares 'O'zapft is!'. Around six million visitors fill fourteen large tents serving specially brewed Oktoberfest beer in one-litre Maß glasses, alongside roast chicken, pretzels and brass bands; many wear traditional lederhosen and dirndl. The tradition began in 1810 as a royal wedding celebration. Tent reservations and hotels sell out months in advance, so plan early. This countdown ticks to midnight Central European Time on opening day.
